So yesterday I attended a master class in celebration of the limited edition collaboration between NARS founder, Francois Nars and the iconic photographer Steven Klein. This campaign was launched on the first of November and might I say the eyeshadow colours are definitely in right now for A/W. The colours consist of mostly metallics and everything is super pigmented, which is something NARS never disappoint in and I was lucky enough to play around with some of the limited edition makeup.
The session first started off with cleansing and moisturising the skin and then prepping it with primer in ready for the makeup.
The look we went for was a simple evening look, with a smokey cut crease and bold red lip.
The lovely ladies behind the makeup were Cherelle Lazarus (left) and Samantha Perez (right), who have both worked with many well established makeup artists such as Val Garland, Andrew Gallimore and designers in London Fashion Week, such as Erdem and David Koma.
It was a pleasure getting my makeup done by these two ladies, I had great fun and learnt a few tips for when applying makeup. What I also liked about the session was how a good portion of it was based on the importance of having well prepped skin before any makeup is applied, which is something I totally agree on. Its all about the skin, having healthy glowing skin is the gold standard of beauty, also without it, putting on makeup can be tricky and look unpolished.
We first started off with finding the right shade for my base and then we moved onto eyes, then lips, my favourite part. A few swatches were made of some audacious lippy's and I straight away fell in love with Charlotte, which is described as a deep oxblood hue. This colour was named after the British actress Charlotte Rampling, who has been NARS' longtime muse. I had to purchase this lipstick along with other items. All I can say is NARS definitely does not fail in providing high quality products that leave you in sublime.
