CHANEL HAUTE COUTURE (2016) | INSPIRED MAKEUP LOOK

This is the backstage look... I came across the photo on the model Nadja Bender's Instagram page and I fell in love with this look, so I decided to create my own version, inspired by what I found!

TOM FORD - IT AIN'T THAT DEEP

I have heard a lot about Tom Fords makeup and a lot of beauty bloggers were receiving a handful of treats from the brand and raving on about the products. This actually made me want to try the line out (I succumbed to clever marketing).

I went for a cream eye shadow, in the colour ' Spice ' which comes as a whipped mousse like texture. Just a little blob of it goes a long way, its highly pigmented but lightweight. The colour I went for is chocolate brown with a gold undertone. I went for something that I could wear on its own and along with other colours. 

I also got myself a lipstick to go with the eye shadow. I went for ' Black Dahlia ' a deep purple, which sort of reminds me of MAC "Diva" and "Sin". The colour is beautiful and I believe it suits me well. I went for something I knew I would definitely wear and make the most out of. It's a shade for winter, but I think I could still get some use out of it in summer, it'll be great for the evenings. It's soft on the lips despite it being matte and it stays on for a very fairly long time.

NARS L'Amour, Toujours L'Amour eyeshadow palette

This palette comes with twelve colours, three being matte and the rest are shimmery. The colours range from browns, blues, greens and blacks. The texture is slightly creamy but mostly powdery. The performance is somewhat satisfactory, but you need a creamy base for these eyeshadows to come out properly on the skin. They do fall out around the eyelids when applying, but that can easily be cleaned up with a makeup remover, q-tip etc. Once its on the eyes i've found it to stay on all day without it smudging. 

This palette is perfect for evening looks like smokey eyes. Its not the kind of eyeshadow palette I would usually go for, as I tend to go for nudes and browns for a natural everyday look. But the thing that got me about this palette was the contemporary and chic look it has. 

The packaging is fantastic, its cool and chic and perfect for travelling with. The mirror on the outside  is great for any quick touch ups.
